Formal criteria
Please consider the following guidelines if you want to send an original paper to be publish to the Berkala Arkeologi Sangkhakala journal:
Document and format
Document and format. The article must be submitted on A4 size paper (accepted formats: doc- docx- odt), with single spacing, Arial font and 11pt.
Length of Text. The total number of words in the text will be between 5,000 and 7,000. In this computation are considered the references and the tables, as well as the summary and the keywords.
Abstract. The abstract of the article will be in Indonesian and English with a maximum of 250 words in each language. The abstract will also be incorporated during the submission process (step 2), within the corresponding metadata fields. The summary is an essential element of the dissemination of scientific results. As researchers, when we recover previous studies about our field of work, the first contact we have with them is through the abstract. What this offers us will make us interested or not by it and, consequently, that we devote time to know the work in more detail. For this reason, it is essential that you devote the time necessary to prepare the abstract so that it is of the highest quality. Some recommendations for its elaboration:
The abstract should reflect the overall structure of the article (IMRaD), through an organized and logical structure.
In this way, it should succinctly locate the research (problem, object, objective), indicate the methodology used, and the main results obtained.
The translation of the abstract must be of the highest quality, in an academic English peer-reviewed.
Keywords. 5 key words will be included in Indonesian and English. The keywords, which will also be incorporated during the submission process (step 2) within the corresponding metadata fields, should be as accurate as possible. The keywords are very important in the recovery of the articles, so it is important to pay special attention to this process too. Some tips for getting good keywords are:
Think about how our colleagues will recover the article, what search terms they will use for it.
They should be associated with the key concepts of the article title.
Synonymous terms or variants of the fundamental terms can be used.
They should be as specific as possible, avoiding very general terms.
When using a technique, procedure or methodology that is especially relevant, it should be included.
It may be helpful to make a review of the keywords using the studies and research that are taken as a reference in the state of the issue.
Tables and figures. The tables and figures must be included in the main document. When uploading these attachments, indicate whether they should be visible only to the evaluators or be made available to readers as attachments.
Notes. Notes should be added to the footer.
Acknowledgements. Any acknowledgements should be included at the end of the document after the conclusions.
Anonymity in review. The main document should NOT include the names of the authors. All metadata identifying the author will be removed from the document
Structure of the articles
articles must be presented in: Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, and Conclusion . If the paper is not presented in that format, you must state and justify the reasons in a cover letter. The Editorial Board will assess it and reply to the author. Authors who choose not to use the aforesaid format must consider that it is very rare for original documents that do not respect this structure to be accepted.
